New Season, New Beginnings

As the fall is approaching, and the air is getting chili and crisp in the city, we are all going through change. Lex, Alexandra if your in New York,  has just began her second year as a math teacher and is really enjoying the students she is able to impact every day. She is still working with adverse and special needs students.  She is also a full time student finishing her last year for her Masters Degree in Special Education.  I was just promoted as the Assistant Studio Manager for the Orange Theory SOHO Branch.  I am also a coach at the newest fitness craze in Manhattan, Punch Pedal House.  I love to coach and teach cardio circuits with boxing.

We are slowly, but surely making our way back into a routine. here are some of our best tips and tricks to get back on track and set yourself up for success!
  1. Set your alarm the night before! This has been a mistake of ours one too many times. You will not "forget" to wake up & feel rushed out the door.
  2. Turn off all electronics 15min before getting into bed. We love to scroll and watch Netflix too, but we have noticed such a huge difference in our sleep when we actually put the technology away!
  3. Prep your bag. With our early mornings, it always gives us a peace of mind preparing all our things the night before. It makes it 10x easier to wake up knowing you do not have to rush or stress about forgetting anything.
  4. Prep your meals. Finding healthy, nutritious, and satisfying meals to easily prepare the night or week ahead will save you lots of time and money!
  5. Lex's First Day 2019
New Job! OTF - Assistant Studio Manager
  6. Schedule "me" time. We spend our days surrounded by people and stimulus, it is easy for our bodies to stay in constant alert mode all day. Take 15 minutes for yourself just to relax. Literally, do not do anything. Lay down, no phone, tv, set an alarm for yourself and just try and focus on nothing but your breath. You would be surprised how challenging yet rewarding 15 minutes to yourself can b

Giving back - Beach Clean Up

Carlsbad Beach Clean Up Crew
Our agency is always big on giving back to the community that gives us so much. Mom and dad had the pleasure of participating in the beach clean up with the local, New Song Community Church that is right in our neighborhood. We encourage all of you to find something you are passionate about and give back. The beach has been our second home since the day I was born. We look forward to doing more outreach and community events. If you have any ideas or need some help and sponsorship, we are always open to ideas and love to help!

12 Week Challenge

Since it is the start of the new season, I always like to try and do some sort of a rest or a cleanse just to keep my insides right! Most of the time I eat fairly healthy and always try to get well-balanced meals in when I am out. Join me on my 12 week challenge of no processed foods! Whole foods, real ingredients, & consistency when exercising. It is always good to be mindful of how we feel & make sure we take care of our body that gives us so much on a daily basis.  The human body is a powerful organism and computer of some sort.  Learning to properly fuel your body is definitely the best source of medication in the 21st Century.  You are what you eat.  I hope you guys join me on this 12-weeks journey and I can't wait to keep you updated!

Ingredient of the Month - Turmeric

I decided to add one ingredient per month that I find beneficial, unknown, or something I use on a daily basis that I believe is worth talking about. This months ingredient of choice is TURMERIC! Lex and I use turmeric in some capacity every single day. Turmeric is most know for its anti-inflammatory properties.
We use turmeric to:
1. Make "Golden Milk Lattes"
2. Make our own scar reducing face masks
3. Cook yummy foods!
