No Time for Gloom in June

No Time for Gloom In June

Restaurant Review

BABA COFFEE- CARLSBAD
2727 State St #100, Carlsbad, CA 92008
7AM-7PM

With summer finally here, we have been talking walks down by the beach and through downtown Carlsbad. Last summer, we happened to run into this place as it was still being built. Now, it is one of our favorite little coffee shops. It is quite unique because it is attached to a winery and serves beer at the location. You can get an espresso in the morning and relax with a glass of wine or beer during the evening.

Summer Sweets

"NICE CREAM"

Craving some ice cream on a hot summer day? Try this healthier option:

Blend together frozen bananas and any other fruit you may like. I suggest mangoes and strawberries with shreds of coconut or powdered peanut butter and dates. Use almond milk or any other milk alternative for a creamy base. Use less milk for a thicker bowl of nice cream. Here is one of my recipes:

In bowl:
1/2 C unsweetened almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp nut butter
1 tbsp raw cacao
1 tsp cacao nibs
1 date
BLEND

On top:
shredded coconut
chopped almonds
chia seeds

Beach Essentials

As the weather is getting nicer and the beaches more crowded, here are some things you do not want to forget while you spend the whole day under the sun! I don't leave my house without them.

Water, being in the sun all day it is important to hydrate!
Sunscreen, duh...Did you know...
"Ninety percent of skin cancer cases are caused by sun exposure, whether that is chronic exposure or intermittent sunburns."
Hats and sunglasses are always a good idea to keep the sun out of your face and keep you from squinting the entire day.

A good book.
A fun game. Cards, spike ball, and smash ball are just a few fun ones that can keep people occupied for hours.

Dad's Day

Well, it is no surprise that our family business would not thrive without our Dad. We are lucky enough to have a business that allowed our Dad to come to every one of our sporting events to show his constant support. Thanks to all the Farmers Dad's that help make our business possible, we appreciate you and we hope you all enjoyed your day!

Hello Friends and Family.  As we conclude the six months of 2017, I am hoping that we will be able to connect, say hello or at least send a text to each other.  The year has gone by faster than most.  It seems like yesterday I was loafing around looking for something to do for summer as a 21 year old. In a blink of an eye, a college degree, a marriage, three kids and a mortgage.  On May 31st of this year  I lost a dear friend, brother, college room mate, best man of my wedding.  He was all of them in one person.  When I started in the business of insurance, my friend believed in me.  I was his home, auto, business and life insurance agent.  I entered this business because protecting peoples assets and lives gave me purpose to assist friends, family and neighbors in time of need and more importantly, give our clients peace of mind.  For the second half of my career, I vow to make certain I have turned every stone in a household to archive and keep record of an existing life policy or issue the gift of life insurance to them.  Why ?  Because it is the right thing to do.  It gives me purpose.  My friends children will be able to finish college without their dad, he will be there in spirit.  My friends children will be able to invest for the future.  My friends children will be able to travel the world and share their experience with their family and future children.  We will catch up and we will make certain that you have peace of mind and security.  I appreciate each and every person in my life because we are all unique and are all Gods Children.  From my family to yours, from my heart to your heart.  Peace and Love.  Kindly, Glenn.

We hope you enjoyed this months family blog.  Wishing everyone a happy, safe and full filling summer.  Until July friends, family and clients.

Kindly, your blogger from the East and West Coast, Amanda.
