Spring it Forward

Spring is here! The weather has been so nice, and we are officially a year away from the wedding bells in our family. This spring, we celebrate Auntie Des's 60th birthday, gearing up for baseball season and Easter, and continue with the wedding planning. We hope you are enjoying your extra hour of daylight. Since finishing nursing school and applying for jobs, I have worked part-time at the family agency. The phones do not stop ringing, but there are a few things I have noticed are important, but many new homeowners or young adults like me wouldn't think about: the importance of life insurance, asking for any possible discounts, and making sure to keep reminders in your calendar for upcoming payments!

Enjoy the read, kindly,

Amanda Kiki Domingo

What Life Insurance is Best for Myself & My Family?

Life insurance comes in two main categories: Term Life and Permanent Life (including Whole Life and Universal Life). Each serves different financial needs and life stages.

Term Life Insurance

  • Covers a specific period (e.g., 10, 20, or 30 years).

  • More affordable, especially for young professionals and business owners with temporary financial needs.

  • No cash value—only pays a death benefit if the insured dies within the term.

  • Premiums increase after the initial term and can become costly over time.

  • Best for covering temporary financial obligations like mortgages, student loans, or business loans.

Permanent Life Insurance

  • Provides lifelong coverage as long as premiums are paid.

  • Builds cash value, which can be accessed for financial needs.

  • Can be structured for estate planning, business succession, or wealth transfer.

  • Types include:

    • Whole Life: Fixed premiums, guaranteed death benefit, and steady cash value growth.

    • Universal Life: More flexible with premium payments and death benefit options.

      • Traditional Universal Life: Growth tied to the insurance company’s investments.

      • Indexed Universal Life: Cash value linked to stock market index performance.

Who Should Consider Each Type?

  • Young Professionals: Term life is more affordable, but permanent life offers cash value benefits.

  • Business Owners: Term life can cover short-term risks; permanent life supports long-term planning.

  • Pre-Retirees: Permanent life policies can provide living benefits, such as early access to funds.

  • Retirees: Can use permanent life insurance for estate planning or as a financial legacy for heirs.

Choosing the right policy depends on financial goals, budget, and long-term needs. Click the link below to get a free quote today and to talk to an agent about all your questions!

Workout of the Month

Suns out, guns out!
Now that it is spring time and the weather is nicer, it is the perfect time to get outside!
This month's workout is intervals - outside or on the tread whatever feels best for you. This is what I love to add the end of a workout or after an incline walk. All you need is 10 minutes and some grit.

Sprint Intervals: Set your timer for 10 minutes.

30 seconds ON, 30 seconds OFF/Walk.

Repeat intervals 10x through. Only 10 minutes long, means no excuse not to get it in!

February 2025

Celebrating 31 Years & Life Updates!

Happy anniversary to our parents and agency owners, Jen & Glenn. They have been married for 31 years this February. They enjoyed a staycation at the new Alila Marea Hotel in Encinitas.  A very swanky and adult only venue, they enjoyed the outdoor restaurant and bar while relaxing with some well deserved alone time. Wishing them another 31 + years of laughter, love, and hopefully some grandkids in their future.

Graduated Nursing School & Passed the NCLEX

Another Degree for KIKI

Well, she did it, Amanda Natalie Ann Domingo graduated from Nursing School.  She has passed that State Board Exams and has applications in to several hospitals.  She is a goal setting and driven young adult.  She has her Masters in Exercise Science as well.  Lets all congratulate Amanda Kiki Domingo for a job well done.  Maybe she holds the key to the future of Domingo and Associates, only our Lord know now.

Workout of the Month

One of my favorite ways to get a workout in while in a pinch for time. This workout only takes 20 minutes to complete. 4 minutes each round. 5 total rounds on the clock. You have 4 minutes to complete 3 exercises. Whatever time is remaining after the 3 exercises in the 4 minutes is your rest before the next round.

Every 4 Minutes on the Minute (E4MOM)

- 12 burpees
- 12 clean to press
- 12 reverse grip DB rows

Make your weight selection heavy enough that you need to break up your reps. You should be able to complete about 6-8 reps then need to drop the dumbbells before completing the rest of the set.

Let us know how it goes! Repeat the workout 2-3 weeks later and see if you can increase your weight selection for a bonus challenge.

Recipe of the Month

Since school has finally finished and I passed my NCLEX, I have been back in the kitchen trying out some new healthy recipes. This month's recipe is protein pancakes. This recipe is so easy to make and so quick to make. It packs over 50 g of protein for under 400 calories per serving. Perfect to keep you full and fueled throughout your day!

Ingredients:

- 1/2 c cottage cheese
- 1/3 c GF oats (can use regular oats)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein
- 1/2 c egg whites

Instructions:

- Place all ingredients together in a blender
- Blend until thick, batter consistency
- Spray and heat pan on medium heat
- Pour batter and flip!

* Add toppings of your choice. My favorites are bananas, blueberries, and SF maple syrup!

Check It Out - New in Oceanside, CA

So awesome we have a new arena venue right down the street! If you have not had the chance to check out Frontwave Arena - we highly recommend it. It is the perfect size where no matter what seat you get, you have a great view. They have multiple bars and local restaurants to grab food from. Frontwave Arena is home to the indoor professional San Diego Sockers & the SD Clippers! They offer group deals as well if you are looking to get together for a social event. There is a link above to check out their upcoming events and sports games.
