SCHOOL STARTS, GOAL SETTING, LIFE INSURANCE

Happy fall everyone! Seasons may be changing, but our services remain the same. We hope you all enjoy this new season, reflect to set some quarterly goals, and begin to fall back to stay on track after a few hectic months. School has started back for many with distance learning and virtual classes as the topic of discussion.  How are you handling the education system with your family?   Lately, we have been keeping busy with the pups, the on-going construction in our backyard, and trying to keep as much of a social life as we can through these uncertain times. This month we celebrated our dad's birthday. He had a great time gathering with a few family and friends. We wish him nothing but peace, joy, and a success this next year. He thanks each and every one of you for your many birthday wishes! We hope everyone wrapped up summer safely and is looking forward to the new season coming.  Finally, in our industry, September is life insurance awareness month.  The responsible and loving gift of a life insurance policy for your loved ones will provide one of the most confident feelings we all instinctively want, security. Enjoy the read and we appreciate any feedback.

Restaurant Review

Did ya know, strawberries are good for your muscles, brain, and heart health? They help lower blood pressure, helps in preventing cancerous diseases, and supports cognitive function. This month we are reviewing the new Strawberry Shack in the heart of downtown Carlsbad. A perfect place for a sweet snack or tasty dessert, the fresh ingredients are refreshing, tasty, and delicious. We have known the owner, Russ Bruhn, for many years and are happy to support another locally owned business in our home town. They have everything strawberry from chocolate dipped strawberries, to strawberry fudge, sundaes, and much more! Tell the boss Russ that Bingo Domingo sent you to enjoy his very flavorful offerings.  The Strawberry Shack is just one of "The Carlsbad Gourmet's" business units.  He also provides private label manufactured sauces and drink mixes for Stone Brewery and Lego Land.

Festive Fall

Its coming to that time of the year when we all are offered something sweet to eat.  The hospitality we receive from most of our family and friends seem to always have some type of sweet treat or snack to offer.  How can you say no?  We encourage you to balance your sweet tooth by only accepting or eating one treat a day.  Remember to count the treats and the size of your treats to keep the holiday 10lbs away.  If you don't the holiday 10 turns into the holiday 15 or the horrible 20.  Balance, self control and sharing are all good characteristics to live a happy and healthy life.  Enjoy the recipes below.  Moderation is the key to self control with all food, drink and snacks.

Pumpkin Donuts

Ingredients:
-1 box yellow cake mix
-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon OR pumpkin pie spice (OPTIONAL)
-1 can of canned pumpkin
-1 C powdered sugar

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees
-Mix cake mix, canned pumpkin, and cinnamon/pumpkin pie spice in a bowl
-Place batter in a pastry bag and cut off the end for a 1/2" opening
-Pipe batter into a baked cake donut pan
-Bake for 10 min at 400 degrees
-Place hot donuts in bag with powdered sugar and shake until coated to liking

Pumpkin Protein Shake

I know people go crazy for pumpkin spice lattes, but I'd have to admit pumpkin pie protein shakes are one of my favorites! A super easy breakfast on the go, protein packed snack, or nice refreshing and healthy alternative for a pumpkin pie dessert.

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup of pumpkin (canned)

-1 small banana (frozen for extra thickness)
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
-11 oz. of Vanilla Premier Protein shake OR 1 scoop of vanilla protein + 1 C of almond milk

Directions:
-Place all ingredients into a blender.
-Blend until consistency of your choice
-Feel free to add a dollop of whipped cream and enjoy!

Bingo's Bash

On September 9th we celebrated our dad and the founder of the agency for his 53rd birthday. Although we weren't able to throw the big Bingo's Bash that our dad deserves, he was able to get together with some of his closest friends and family to celebrate his special day. Have you ever done a Bourbon Tasting ?  Make certain that you offer a list of the Bourbons to your guest, then have someone in the party pour a responsible size shot in secret to not give away the name of the Bourbon.  Have a sheet of paper and a pen so your tasters can make notes and try to guess which Bourbon is being tasted.  Its always important to have plenty of water to clear the pallet and a few snacks for the light weights.  SO many of you reached out to wish him a happy birthday and I know he was elated to hear from you all. Thank you all who spent the evening with him, all that wished him a happy birthday, and all that were there in spirit.

Workout of the Month

The 100 Club
Complete each body weight exercise for 100 reps each! Break up the receptions as you choose to, but make sure you reach 100. Keep a running timer until all reps are complete. Feel free to add a barbell, dumbbells, kettlebell, or just your own body weight!

1. Squats
2. Reverse Lunges
3. Sumo Squats
4. Push Ups
5. Supermans

*** If you feel up to it, see how many times you can go through the exercise starting at 100 reps and decreasing by 10 each round. For example, Round 1 = 100 reps reach, Round 2 = 90 reps each, Round 3 = 80 reps each...etc.

A Note From the Agency Owner

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month.  This product is near and dear to my heart.  I was able to start my career insuring many of my family and friends.  I enjoyed working with families because the wrap around product to complete a personal insurance portfolio is life insurance.  Many products are available, which include term insurance and permanent insurance.  Their definitions are below provided by Investopedia.

Term insurance is a type of life insurance policy that provides coverage for a certain period of time or a specified "term" of years. If the insured dies during the time period specified in the policy and the policy is active, or in force, a death benefit will be paid.

Permanent life insurance policies offer a death benefit and cash value. The death benefit is money that's paid to your beneficiaries when you pass away. ... Permanent life insurance lasts from the time you buy a policy to the time you pass away, as long as you pay the required premiums.

I believe in this product because it assisted in paying for my best mans children's education and an adjustment fund for them when he passed away a couple of years ago.  I believe in this product because one of my co workers I sold a term insurance policy to many years ago passed away and she was a single mother with  a three year old and assisted with final expenses and a college fund for him.  I believe in this product because a client purchased a life insurance policy on their son who was in a fatal car accident giving the parents funds for the funeral and future funding.  Please call, text or email for a Free Farmers Friendly Review.  There are products that build cash value and there are products that are very inexpensive for a certain period.  My job is to educate you on this product that is purchased because of love.  Thanks for reading and understanding how much we care about you and your family.

Kindly, Glenn & Amanda Domingo, your agency for a lifetime.

Summertime Birthdays and Celebrating from a Distance

Texas Bar-B-Que Ribs - Grilling Outdoor Recipes powered by Bull Outdoor Products

With the weather warming up and summer coming to a close, we hope you are all healthy and enjoying the sun as much as possible. We have been keeping busy with some new construction on the house, the new puppies, and trying to get down to the beach during our free time. This month we celebrated my sister, Lexie's 25th birthday, and my 23rd birthday. It was our first birthday's apart, but we both enjoyed a mellow day with our friends. Face Time really helps too.  Can you believe that we have used up 8 months of the year and 6 of those months under the Covid-19 restrictions.  What have you been up to these last couple weeks of summer? We hope you all have a safe and fun rest of your summer!

Birthday Celebration

Lex and I both celebrated our birthday's this month. Although we weren't together we still had a great time. Funny how empty our family feels when we are not together, mostly dad, but we all look forward to being together again soon for the Holidays.  What a great birthday gift my boyfriend Wes shared with me.  We took a flight in one of the oldest commercial biplanes, from 1924, over the San Diego coast & enjoyed a weekend away exploring Zion National Park.  Reflecting back and setting goals for the future, I am super grateful to be back home surrounded by family & friends. This year I look forward to beginning my journey at nursing school and settling back into California. If you are ever in Carlsbad, look me up at Senor Grubby's as I start my side hustle in the restaurant industry.  Both my mom and dad worked in restaurants before opening up their insurance practice.  Looking forward to the tips as well.  Lex took a drive from NYC to Pittsburgh to visit Addison for her birthday weekend. They enjoyed a Tiki Float down the river with a couple of cocktails to celebrate. Lex looks forward to navigating the new teaching and educational challenges this year and exploring New York City with her boyfriend, Ian. She completed the Masters Program at Long Island University in Special Education.  My dad introduced her to the Director of Special Education for the Carlsbad Unified School District and hopefully someday soon she will return home when she is ready.

Restaurant Review

With restaurants opening back up I thought this month I'd give you a list of a few that we have been too and believe they are adhering to the guidelines and have adapted to these new ways of dining out.

1. Mikko Sushi - Created a super nice outdoor dining area. Salmon skin salad is my favorite!
2. Crackheads - Made their own upper deck seating. Great place for a cocktail or Sunday brunch!
3. 264 Fresco - Turned their parking lot into an elegant dining space. I love cioppino!
4. The Best Pizza - Cool outdoor vibe. Super casual, great pizza, wings, and beer!
5. Señor Grubby's - Made a new outdoor bar and deck to sit at. If you love spice, shrimp diablo is YUMMY.

***Beware that hours are subject to change at most restaurants during COVID-19, so what websites say may not apply. We suggest calling ahead of time if you are concerned.***
