December 2020

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Oh, what a year it has been! 2020 was definitely one we will not forget. As this year comes to a close we want each of you to know how much we appreciate all the love and support from our family, friends, and clients. We hope you all enjoyed your holiday season, no matter what the circumstances were, we hope you are filled with joy, love, health and happiness as we begin a new year.

Although the holidays looked different this year, we were still lucky enough to spend it with our close family. It was so nice to have my sister come home for the holiday. We sure missed Addison, but hope he will be able to visit us soon. My parents took a trip to see him earlier this month knowing he wouldn't be able to make it for Christmas. In a way, it was a nice change to be stuck at home for the holidays. We got lots of baking in and got extremely crafty with our decorating. Pinterest has some inexpensive decorations and ideas you'll have to check out.

Support Local - Restaurant Review

With all the shut downs up in the air, we just want to take some time to recognize some local businesses who are practicing safe peaceful protests by continuing to keep their businesses open. As a family run business ourselves, we understand the need for businesses to remain open. Most restaurants are still open for delivery and takeout services all around and some local Carlsbad restaurants that are continuing to hold outdoor dining through a peaceful protest such as: Senor Grubby's, Crackheads, Compass & The Cantina. Do your best to support local!

Christmas Themed Workout

25 Reps of Fitmas

Starting each exercise off at 25 reps you will complete one whole round. Decreasing each round by 5 reps...(25, 20, 15, 10...) until you are down to the last round at 5 reps a piece. Try to increase your intensity as the rep count decreases. For example, maybe you start by doing your push ups on your knees until you reach the 10 rep count, then you come up onto your toes for the final 2 rounds. Have fun with it, get your family involved, and get in some movement where ever you are!

25 Squats
25 Reverse Lunges (each side)
25 Push Ups
25 Plank to Ankle Taps (each side)
25 Double Crunch

*Remember keep subtracting each round by 5 reps each exercise. You should end up with 5 reps to finish out 5 total rounds.

Starting 2021 Strong - Healthy Daily Habits

We hear it all the time, "New year, new me!", but what we really mean to say is, new year trying a healthier lifestyle me. Most people think of the New Year as a great time to kick off all their healthy habits and lose the 15 pounds they've been talking about for the past 5 years. While it is a great time to reset and restart, we want to make sure we create attainable goals which we can sustain for the rest of our lives! SMART goals is a great place to start. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable/Achievable, Relevant, & Time-Bound.
Marathon training! 18 mile run with Dad riding his bike next to me!
I like to break up my SMART goals into monthly, 3 month, and 1 year goals. Write them down and place them in an area you will see them everyday. Maybe next to your computer screen, on a sticky note next to your bathroom mirror, or right on the kitchen fridge. It is so accomplishing to be able to physically cross them off and see how much you can achieve. Cheers to your 2021 goals!

Christmas Time at Home

More time at home meant more baking, decorating, and holiday themed activities. From baking cookies and pie to painting our own nutcrackers, this year we tried it all. Below are a few ideas, recipes, and holiday fun that we tried out and look forward to continuing in the future.

Let's get crackin', crafting nutcracker party!
Chocolate Dipped Bananas
- 5 bananas cut in half
- 10 popsicle sticks
- 1 bag of your desired chocolate chips (vegan, dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate)
- 4-5 cups crushed peanuts

1. Cut and prepare all bananas in half.
2. Puncture each banana with popsicle stick about halfway through.
3. Microwave your bag of chocolate in 30 second intervals mixing between until you have a smooth, melted consistency.
4. Coat each banana in chocolate & generously sprinkle crushed peanuts over.
5. Place on parchment paper lined tray & freeze for 3-5 hours.

Let's Get Crackin'

We were lucky enough to have our family friend throw a holiday crafting get together. Super fun and simple. Grab some bare nutcrackers from your local craft store, paints, glitter, fur, jewels (literally anything you want)! Find some inspiration on the internet or from some nutcrackers you have around the house and transform your wooden nutcracker into a personalized masterpiece. Have fun with it, there is literally no wrong way to do it!

Insurance 2021

First of all, for the clients, family and friends that have been our clients new and tenured, thank you for being part of our business family.  Without you, we would not have a business.  2021 will be a year to build up the reserves for the entire insurance industry for the wild fire losses in 2019 and 2020.  Please be aware of the premium adjustments that will be made in order to have enough in our accounts to pay for any future wild fires.  Home, auto, umbrella and business insurances will see these adjustments.  We reach out to you asking that your friends and families that are not insured with Farmers or our agency give us a call for a complimentary Farmers Friendly Review.  This will allow prospective client the opportunity to see if bundling will assist with lower premiums, and to review the coverage package they have in place.  This will allow both our agency and the consumer a snap shot of insurance coverage they have in force, see if they have duplicate coverages, make certain they are properly covered and finally to give peace of mind knowing they conducted a review.

Make sure that your business property at home is covered if working from home for an extended amount of time until the pandemic has ended or you have been called back to work at a physical location.  Review your annual mileage driven and make certain your agent knows if you are working from home or have reduced or increased your mileage.  Did you get a new pet?  Let us know or let your insurance agent know so proper coverage can be in place in the event of a dog bite / injury caused by your new pet family member.  Home improvements are at an all time high, did you report any upgrades or changes to your insurance agency?  Finally, check if you have gap coverage on your vehicle, it may be time to cancel that endorsement because the car is worth less than what is owed.

Communication is so important, please call, text, email, facetime or zoom us with an insurance or insurance related questions and concerns.  Looking forward to connecting in 2021.  Stay safe, be healthy and always remember our gratitude for you.

Kindly and respectfully, Glenn & Amanda Domingo, your agency for LIFE.
