Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandpas, and everyone who takes on the role of a father. We are very fortunate to have our dad who is a leader of this business and the leader of our family. Always providing for our family any way he can and showing us tough love. Our Father's Day celebration looked a little different than normal this year due to a medical emergency and both my siblings living on the east coast; however that will never change how much we love and appreciate our dad and all his quirks, nicknames, and dance moves. We celebrated a little later with a day at the shooting range and a lunch to follow! You rock Dads, we appreciate you and all your un-noticed hard work!

Restaurant Review - Brooklyn Boyz Pizza

After living in New York, it is tough to find pizza that compares! We decided to try out Brooklyn Boyz Pizza in Oceanside and give it a review. They deliver, have some great special, and make pretty much any pizza you can imagine. They have both deep dish (Sicilian style) and the classic thin crust Brooklyn style pie. By the slice or by the pie, they did not disappoint. If you are just feeding yourself I suggest ordering by the slice! If you are looking to feed a family of 4 to 6 one pizza should do the trick!

Workout of the Month - AMRAP

Well, summer is officially here! No one wants to workout on vacation, or in the summer heat for an hour or more. Here is a quick sweaty blaster that you can do anywhere with your own body weight. It won't take all morning, but you will get your day started with a rush of endorphins and some serious sweat. AMRAP stands for "as many rounds as possible", meaning you will set a timer for 30, 35, or 40 minutes and try to complete as many rounds as you can of all the exercises until the timer stops.

AMRAP - Workout

40 Squats
30 Reverse Lunges
20 Mountain Climbers
10 Push Ups
5 Full Burpees

Go get your sweat on anywhere, anytime! No excuses!

New York or Nowhere

Mom was lucky enough to book a cheap ticket to visit Lex in NYC for a long weekend. They have finally lifted their COVID restrictions and New York City is back in action. They have been enjoying their time at various restaurants, parks, and museums. Mom got to see Lexie's new place and meet some of her new friends since her best friend (me) fled the city.

Backing Off the Booze

I decided to do a little challenge for myself to see how my body and mind responded to a little alcohol detox before the summer time. Was it tough? Of course it was. Being 23 years old in San Diego it seemed liked that was all people did for their social outings. But was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY.  It definitely gave me more clarity that is hard to explain, my workouts improved, my skin looked much more clear, and I was not as lethargic. Everything is good in moderation. I would challenge you to just see if you can go 14 to 21 days and see what it can do for you! I do not plan on not drinking again but I do believe it is a good thing to take a break once in awhile (especially after all this COVID drinking). Some benefits after 14 days could include:

1. Better sleep
2. Improved hydration
3. Decreased acid reflux
4. Lower blood pressure & triglycerides (fat cells)
5. Improved immune system
6. Clearer thoughts
7. Improved relationships

Summer Essentials - What's In My Beach Bag

With summer here, the heat is picking up and the tourists are in town. No better way to spend a sunny day than relaxing on the beach. Here are a list of some essentials I always take with me to make the most of my beach day.

1. Pack your lunch & snacks. There is nothing worse than being hungry and having to leave your perfect parking spot to grab a bite to eat. Sandwiches, some chips, and fruit are easy to pack and easy to eat!
2. Sunscreen! Can't stress this enough, everyone wants to get that tan but you have to keep the wrinkles away too.
3. A good book. It is always nice to hangout and just do absolutely nothing for the day, but if you find reading relaxing don't forget to bring something you enjoy reading.
4. Refreshing drinks. The sun is draining and dehydrating itself so make sure to bring some water, coconut water and Gatorade are a couple of my favorites right now. If you're packing a cooler with some alcoholic beverages make sure you are hydrating as well!
5. Chair, towel, & umbrella. Get comfortable and enjoy your time in the sun. I recommend setting up your camp earlier rather than later before the crowds hit the waves.
6. Sunnies and a hat. Some more sun protection never hurt anyone!

We hope you all have a safe, healthy, and fun summer in the sun!

A Note From the Agency Owner

Hello Friends and Family.  This is just a friendly reminder about a few Best Practice Safety Tips during Summer.

1.  Make suren when leaving for vacation, to notify a friend, family member or neighbor to keep an eye on the house for any suspicious activity.
2.  Be sure to have your mail delivered to the post office so nothing can be stolen.
3.  Turn off the main water to the home if you are away for any length of time that is more than a few days.
4.  Make sure the home windows and doors are secure before leaving for the long trip.
5.  If going on a long road trip, check your oil, tires and fluids.  Better safe than sorry.

My mom's 85th Birthday is on July 4th.  We will have a special section in next months blog for her.  A special thank you to all our clients that have left us a 5 Star Google Review with comments.  Thank you so much.  We are your Agency for Life.  We look forward to seeing or hearing from you soon.

Jen's "Juni" 50th Celebration

Happy Birthday, Mom! Dad and mom celebrated my moms 50th birthday this month. They had such a blast with a group of their friends. They hit the bourbon trail through Kentucky, went to the horse races at Churchill Downs, then ended their fun in Nashville where my older brother, Addison, drove down from Pittsburgh and sister, Alexandra, flew in from New York to surprise her.  The planning started about six months ago.  We all did not know what the pandemic would do for traveling, all of our guest received the Covid-19 vaccination and we all felt comfortable traveling.  22 of us in all.  A couple drove down from Pittsburgh.  A couple hosted and drove in from Nashville.  Our old neighbors and dear friends as well as friends from youth softball and baseball.  Some of the fellas dad has known since the 4th grade made the trip as well.  A true trip of a life time. We’re so grateful we were able to celebrate her and how special she is to all of us.

Mr. Winston and Miss Lucy sure missed momma, but we had a good time holding down the fort at home. Thank you to everyone who made this trip and unforgettable one! Cheers to Juni and 50 more!

Happy Birthday Mom

I miss mom and dad
The smiles say it all.

More TV time since mom & dad are away!

Momma’s Day

Love you, Mom!

Aunt Nat, Mama, & Mom

A day to appreciate a little extra all the hard work our mom’s do on a daily basis. To all the mothers, all the mothers we remember, and all the one who take on the role as mothers we never can appreciate all the sacrifices you make each and every day. Big shoutout to our mom who undeniably goes above and beyond. We were able to celebrate with both my grandma’s and my mom. The first time our family has got together since the pandemic began.

Restaurant Review

As summer comes around and everyone is on the go or out and about I thought to twist up our usual restaurant review. An easy, affordable date night, family day, or hanging with your best gals or guys. Head over to your local grocery store with a deli! Usually the sandwiches are pretty cheap, made fresh right in front of you, and all the picky eaters get to choose really anything from the store. We usually use Sprouts or Frazier Farms order our food, grab some fruit, snacks, and a drink then take our food with us to enjoy at the beach. My dad, mom, and I did this for Memorial Day!

Memorial Day

A day to remember all who have served our country. We will never be able to thank them enough. We honor you with the upmost respect. We want to remember that this is not just a "3-day weekend", but a day dedicated to those who served our country. We thank you for your service!

Mid Year Review

Wow, we have five months of 2021 under our belt.  Did those 5 months fly by ?  As the states, country and the world start to re open without the fear of contracting the Covid-19 Virus, people around the world are starting to travel and feel comfortable with public appearances.  This segment of the blog is two fold.

First of all, during this time of the year, our agency and family review our 2021 goals to see how close or how far we are from accomplishing that goal.  We have written our goals down for 25 years and this has assisted us with keeping focus on the task needed to reach that goal.  This is a great opportunity to reflect back on what is working and what needs adjusting.  I try to remember to what process, steps and actions we have done to keep successful.  I also will delete a marketing plan or adjust a budget in order to make the goal happen by year end.  What ever the task or goal is, life throws curveballs and you need to adjust your skills and tactics in order to make that goal a reality.  Don't get down on your self if the goal you have set is not being accomplished.  We all have the ability to change our lives.  Do you have goals that need adjusting ?  Do you have goals that will improve you and your families lives ?  Do you have goals that will improve the lives of others ?

Secondly, as our traveling and vacations increase, so should our awareness of home safety when we leave.  Make certain you have some trusted neighbors or friends know you will be gone and to have them check on your home a couple of times when you are away.  Look for any plumbing issues prior to leaving or, in fact, turn off your main water supply to prevent a burst pipe.  It is important when you do come back home to have a few of the facets turned on to prevent built up pressure when turning on the main water line.  Either have someone pick up your mail or have it delivered to your local post office to prevent any mail being stolen.  Let your credit card company know you will be traveling so they do not put a hold on a charge that you made out of state or out of country.  Leave a few lights on to have the appearance of someone home to deter any unwelcomed guest from thinking no one is home.  These are just a few ideas to help keep your home, property and lives secure.

Thanks for listening and reading.  Until our June Blog

Kindly and with gratitude, Glenn and Amanda Domingo
