August 2019

The Summer of First's 

My first East Coast beach trip. 
It has been quite an adjustment period as I am finishing up my first summer out of college, away from home, and in the working world. I learned quickly that in school or not, their is always something to learn. I definitely am still going through a transitional phase of figuring out my niche and how to balance work, life, and all the chores that come with living on your own. Thankfully, I have my sissy to help along the way. I'm looking forward to the future and excited for what is to come. 

Moving In 

Lex and I recently moved into our very first New York apartment in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn! While the amount of space available is going to take some adjusting, we like to call it quiet and quaint. We are able to enjoy all the amenities, nights on the rooftop, and the easy access to the subway station. We were so lucky that Dad was able to come for a few days to make an unforgettable trip to Ikea, move us in, and enjoy some laughs at our new pad. We even started our own Instagram together, @citysissys where we are showing our cooking, exploring, and enjoying of New York City. We look forward to the many memories we will make living together and are so grateful for the opportunity.

Work It Out 

Here is a quick 15 min fat blaster that you can do at home, in the gym, or take it with you on vacation. No excuses here! 
Complete each exercise for 30 seconds with no reset. Repeat each circuit 3 times through for an intense sweat. 

Circuit 1: 
-High knees
-Jump squats 
-Burpees
-Crunches 

Circuit 2: 
-Reverse Alternating Lunges
-Side Plank Right 
-Side Plank Left 
-Mountain Climbers 

Summer Salmon Nourish Bowl

One of my favorite things to make right now is any type of nourish bowl...pretty much a ton of veggies,  protein and any toppings we have left in the fridge is how we make ours. Here is our latest and what we crave right now: 

-2 or 3 handfuls of spinach/kale 
-4-6oz. grilled salmon 
-1 tbsp of fruit and nut omega mix 
-1/4 freshly sliced avocado 
-1/2 cup of shredded carrots and cabbage
-1 small diced cucumber 
-lemon squeeze and tahini drizzle
