Happy New Year 2025

Happy New Year! We hope you are having a great start to 2025. It has been a busy start in the Domingo household! We are beginning our wedding planning process, celebrating the marriage of my parents for 31 years, and enjoying the Farmers Open with some of their clients and friends. We hope the start to the new year has brought you peace and joy, and we look forward to seeing what 2025 has in store for everyone. Thank you for continuing to support and trust our family-owned business, we would not be here without your support and encouragement.

With the devastating wildfires in Southern California, the Domingo Family Agency and the Farmers Insurance Group remain extremely busy restoring clients, family and friends lives back to order.  The Insurance Company our family represents is domiciled in Woodland Hills, CA and we will not pull out of this market.  Many underwriting changes and increased rates assisted in positioning the companies and agencies ability to pay out the much needed funding to restore our clients back to where they belong, no more and no less.  We continue to pray for our fellow Southern Californian's as we navigate the rebuilding process of Pacific Palisades and surrounding effected cities.  Thank you Farmers for keeping your promise to indemnify the clients who are effected by this tragic event.

Recipe of the Month

Have you pulled out your crockpot this winter? We have recently got into crockpot recipes simply for the convenience of having something cook on its own while you work the whole day. One of our current favorites is an easy, pulled chicken verde. We love to pair it with rice and veggies and make an easy bowl. Leftovers are the perfect meal prep for the rest of the week. Prep and clean up is super easy and you cannot beat the price, especially when on a wedding budget!   Salsa Verde Chicken

The Number One Fat Loss Tool to Include in 2025

WALKING. Get more steps in 2025. One of the most underrated ways to improve your cardiovascular health and help you lose fat is to walk more. It does not cost a thing and can be done anywhere so there is never an excuse. Most of the time people are so concerned with the 30 - 45 minute workout they are doing, but I always ask, what else are you doing throughout the day? Many people are seated most of the day, whether it is at a desk for their job, in the car on their commute, or binge-watching their favorite TV show after a long day at work. Aiming to get at least 8-10k steps a day can improve your cardiovascular health, increase your mood, help you burn fat, and strengthen muscles and balance. I challenge you to take more steps in 2025! I have linked a walking pad that is a great way to get your steps in while working or while still enjoying your weekend binge-watch on Netflix.

Happy Anniversary

February 5th marks 31 years of marriage for the agency owners, my parents, Jenifer and Glenn Domingo. Happy Anniversary to you both. I have seen how hard running a business can be, especially with someone you are spending all of your time with. We admire how much you both put your faith and God first and know there is not one day that you do not work on your marriage and relationship with each other. Cheers to at least 31 more years!

The Farmers Open

Each year we have the opportunity to attend the Farmers Insurance Open in Southern California. The tradition continues and might be one of the last opportunities to enjoy a professional golf tournament sponsored by the Farmers Insurance Group.  We typically rent a 15 passenger van, dad invited 12 this year.  Clients, referral partners and influencers attended.  They get dropped off right in front of the Lodge, have a tasty morning beverage and then walk to enter the tournament.  This year they walked the course and then gathered at the VIP 18th green tent Farmers Hosted with an all inclusive lunch and cocktail station.  An easy walk pass the Hilton and the conclusion of the event with the Van waiting across the street.  The dirty dozen plus one usually end up in downtown Carlsbad for and early dinner.  It is a tradition annually and it blends together my dad's favorite things: friends, golf, and insurance. Here is a sneak peak into this years outing! FORE!

As 2024 comes to a close, we want to say thank you for all your love and support of our family business. This year has been full of ups and downs, and we are grateful for clients, friends, and family. We continue to build our business on trust, customer service, transparency, and an open-door policy. We are excited to see what blessings 2025 has in store for each of you!

Happy Holidays,

From the Domingo Family

6 v ups
7 reverse lunges
8 sit-ups
9 squat jumps
10 bicep curls

See how quickly you can get through the entire song!

Restaurant Review: Sound by the Sea

Located on the 101 in Oceanside, CA, Sound by the Sea is a fun indoor/outdoor bar with various live DJs every night of the week. The theme reminds me of Palm Springs in the 60s. They have tapas and drinks. They are not considered a full bar, so most cocktails are made with Soju. They have non-alcoholic options available as well. Stop by and bring your own bottle of wine for a 15$ corkage fee or enjoy one of their signature cocktails! This is a fun date night place or a place to go out with friends. Not a kid friendly bar!

New Year's and Resolutions

Ever make New Year's resolutions and feel like you have failed by day 3? You are not alone! There was a study done at UC Davis to help people stick to their New Year's goals. Here are the top 7 tips they came up with to keep you on track all year long.

1. Be picky about your resolutions

We may want to lose weight, eat more vegetables, volunteer more, quit smoking and spend more time with family. But experts say that’s too many goals to set for a New Year’s resolution. Pick one, maybe two things you’d like to focus on and go all in. This sets you up to achieve specific goals instead of feeling like a failure for hitting none of them.

2. Plan your resolution

It’s best to plan for your goal. Think through how you want to accomplish your resolution and how long it might take to reach your goal. For example, if your resolution is to quit smoking, research how long it takes an average person to kick the habit and the possible setbacks to expect. Proper planning will help ensure you can see it through to the end.

3. Set very specific goals

Many of us will set a New Year’s resolution like “exercise more.” But what does that really mean? Instead, you should be detailed in your resolution. It could be “exercise 30 minutes daily.” This gives you a measurable goal to reach each day that you can check off your list. It will help you feel more accomplished.

4. Don’t take on too much

Start small. Avoid setting an overly high expectation of yourself. If you’d like to lose weight, pick a small but realistic weight loss goal. Maybe that’s 10 pounds in two months. Once you reach that goal, you can think about losing another 5-8 pounds. Setting small goals can help you achieve big results.

5. Choose a new resolution

Avoid picking a goal that you’ve tried in the past but failed. You may set yourself up to fall into the same pitfalls that stopped you previously. Instead, pick something different where you can set up a better path to success. Or maybe you can modify a previous goal if that’s something you still want to accomplish.

6. Identify accountability partners for support

Lean on people – whether it’s a friend to keep your exercise resolution on track, or a spouse to help with healthier eating habits. We function better with community around us, motivating and reminding us why we chose that New Year’s resolution in the first place.

7. Give your resolution time to become a habit

New routines don’t just become habit overnight. A 2009 study found that on average, it takes 66 days to form a new habit. Be patient with yourself. If you have minor setbacks or don’t hit your goal one week, pick it back up the next week. Keep working at your goal; eventually, it can become second nature.
