A Time of Thanks 2023

Addison and Alexandra Domingo spending Thanksgiving Week, Long Island North Port

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones. We appreciate not only your business, but your friendship. We missed Addison and Lexie this year, but they got to spend the holiday together in NYC with Lexie's new dog, Ruby. We had a small Thanksgiving with family this year. Every black Friday after Thanksgiving we get together with our closest friends and their families. A Friendsgiving holiday that we cherish each year. We hope you enjoyed your time with your loved ones, ate good food, and shared all that you are grateful for. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect before the year is over on how blessed we are.  The families that joined us are The Janatsch's Family from Nashville, The Maue Family from Wildomar,  The Johnsons, Adnam's, Stovall's and Jacobsen's from Huntington Beach and the Domingo's from Carlsbad.  Hope to see more families from Oceanview or Starview next year.

Recipe of the Month - Chicken Crusted Pizza

The same great taste but is a pizza that you can actually hit your protein goal with and enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 pound ground chicken
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 450 F
2. Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl until a ball/dough formation
3. Press dough into a pizza shape, a pan works, but a pizza stone is best. Use parchment paper underneath.
4. Bake the dough at 450 F for 15 minutes
5. Add favorite toppings and put back in the oven on broil until golden on the bottom, or cheese begins bubbling.

Nursing Tip

As we age, it is difficult for some elders to ask for our help and our assistance. Whether they aren't used to it, feel like they don't want to age, or are too stubborn and prideful, they do need and appreciate our help. The older population is also the forgotten population, unfortunately.  A quick hello, or asking your elderly neighbor if they need anything from the grocery store on your way out can go a long way. After being in the hospitals, I quickly realized that many did not have a lot of family or visitors. They really appreciate just having someone have a conversation with them. I encourage you to say hello once in a while and have a conversation with them, call your grandparents, aunts, uncles or your parents more often, allow them to tell you stories and listen to them, they probably have some pretty good advice.   My dad is considering a ministry with our family elders, maybe once a month go visit and see what is needed.  Do you have any good ideas to help our elders age well ?

A Note from the Agency Owner

The entire insurance industry in the world is dealing with the below:
  1.  inflation
  2. supply chain delays and increased cost for cars waiting to be fixed
  3.  increased cost for supplies and labor in the repair and service industries
  4.  increased frequency and severity of claims
  5.  increased fraud claims
  6.  lack of product offerings creating more exposure to risk for companies serving the market place which creates more premium increasing
  7.  reinsurance rates sky rocketing
  8.  Inability to adjust rates properly in 2020,2021 from Department of Insurance during pandemic to account for wild fires in 2017 and 2018.  And now we have to take into account the wild fires for 2019,2020, and 2021
The above are not excuses, but are actual reasons for insurance rates to increase across the board.  Some areas that will assist with your premium increases are:

a.  deductible management
b.  lower coverages in areas that you don't have exposure
c.  combine your home and auto insurance for maximum discounts
d.  utilizing your home insurance policy for catastrophic losses only
e.  asking your mortgage company what there forced place rate is
f.  writing to the governor and the Department of Insurance Commissioner to have rate caps each year

As always, we appreciate the input, feedback and suggestions from our clients.  When I first started in our industry with the Farmers Insurance Group 27 years ago, I aligned our core beliefs with having accountability first with the department of insurance, then our loyalty and support to our clients and then finally to Farmers.  This practice has kept our agency running.  We are grateful to each and everyone on of our friends, family, sphere of influencers and business partners.  Please call, email or text with any insurance related questions or concerns.  Our advise is free and you don't have to be with Farmers to accept this offer.  Peace and love always.
Kindly, Glenn, Jenifer, Amanda, Lexie, Addison, Liane and Leticia
