Happy New Year!
So much has happened in 2019, the good, the not so good, and all the changes that have come this past year. I feel like this year actually flew by. I look forward to the beginning of a new decade as we close one chapter it is always exciting to start fresh and new. Some big highlights for me personally in 2019 included officially playing collegiate softball in my senior year injury free, graduating with my Masters in Exercise Physiology, landing my first job out of college, and getting my first apartment in NYC with my sissy. In 2020 I hope to move back to California with my family, travel more, and find my career path. We wish you all a safe and happy new year. We can not wait to see what the new year brings each and every one of you. To a year full of health and happiness, cheers to 2020!

Goal Setting
The new year typically brings lots of resolutions, goals, and motivation for change. But, did you know that at least 80% of resolutions fail? We all should call the same goals and resolutions we plan year after year, New Years Revolutions. They revolve year after year without accomplishment. Here are a few tips to keep you motivated beyond the new year hype.
1. Write down your goals somewhere you will visibly see them every single day.
2. Have a partner to hold you accountable.
3. Decrease the distractions or things keeping you from your goals. Manage your time wisely.
4. Have a weekly check - in with yourself. Be honest about your weekly progress.
5. Remember the bigger picture. Continue to remind yourself why you chose these goals in the first place.

Bailey, our family beagle for 16 years has passed on Friday January 3rd. Bay was known by everyone and had such a big personality for a little doggie. We were fortunate to have her around for so long, and to have a dog growing up with us really taught responsibility. She truly lived a long and great life and we are going to miss her beagle bark for food, long walks to the beach, and the way she cuddles up in a little ball by our feet every night. Although she was stubborn and seemed to always get onto the dinner table, yes on top of the dinner table, she was well loved. We raised her since she was a pup. Dad says he still calls for her and that the house is very lonely without her. My goal someday is to own an English Bull Dog. I wrote it down and I see it everyday. Hopefully mom and dad agree. But for now we mourn our pal Bailey the Beagle. RIP Bay Girl, we love you.
A Year in Review 2019
As always, thank you friends, family and clients for trusting our family insurance agency to assist in protecting your home, autos, investment properties and lives. Thank you Amanda for the wonderful writing above and for the time and care you take each month. Many of you already know we do insure most personal and business items. For the concerned clients about retirement and savings, we do also insure your savings and hard earned cash with an insurance product called an annuity. Let me, the agency owner, educate you on how this product works. We can conduct a Farmers Financial Review in order to understand the pros and cons of owning an annuity. This service is free with no obligation. Visiting and seeing you in person is a bonus for me and our team.
More importantly to me is an explanation to you on how our industry is taking shape for the near future in California. Home insurance rates will continue to rise in order to keep pace with the past and probable claims related to wild fires. Our Governor has placed into effect that no insurance company shall cancel or non renew a home policy because they are located adjacent to high brush area exposure. This will be in effect for at least one year. Wild fire claims not only effect the home insurance segment of our industry, but also our auto and business insurance segments. Premiums will rise because insurers are forced to have products to assist the home insurance and home sales markets. In order for companies to project profitability and enough funds and security to pay claims, the insurers of California will have to collect more premiums to stay solvent. Please take time to research cost of home insurance in places like Texas and Florida. California is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, but we do pay a higher premium living in a State that has earthquakes and wildfires. Also trending upward are auto insurance rates. For the past few years I have been educating our clients on the increasing cost of auto repairs because of new technologies. Smart glass, cameras on bumpers, and the liberal use of total loss vehicles has driven auto premiums upwards. Now that the economy is robust, more driving and more exposure to accidents is trending for premiums to increase.
The real estate and lending industries are being effected by increasing premiums as well. Many potential home owners are not closing on escrow if their debt to income ratios are tight because the annual home insurance premiums will place them out of the lending guidelines. We are here to assist with quotations and options for potential homeowners in these areas as well as non high brush risk areas. The more information our prospects and clients have, the better decision they can make for probably the largest investment of their lives. Again, utilize me and my staff to get home insurance rates prior to going to the negotiating table.
