Restaurant Review - Doner Dekalb Kebab
One of my FAVORITE quick and healthier places to dine out! Super convenient because it is right next to the Trader Joe's and Target that we do most of our shopping at. They have a special spice they put on their protein that Lex and I can't resist. The sauce with all the vegetable toppings are the special touch that always keep us coming back. Our favorite is the bowl with half salad and half rice. They have plenty of options for all! Check them out!
Fall Back into Fitness
It is so easy to get into the routine of "I'll just do it tomorrow" as day light savings begins, the holidays are coming around, the weather is getting a little bit colder, and everyone is exhausted, it is so easy to make excuses. No need to wait until the New Year to start on those fitness and lifestyle goals. Why not start today? Sometimes finding the motivation can get tough and it may just seem like it is impossible, maybe you are thinking why even start? Consistency is key when it comes to making any sort of change in your life. Think about a daily smoker trying to quit. If they were to decide to have 1 less cigarette a day, they could quit in 1 month most likely. Try to think about the big picture, set goals and imagine where you will be at the beginning of 2020 if you just, start today.
Grocery Tricks & Tips
Lex and I are for sure "regulars" at the local Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. We actually enjoy grocery shopping together and meal prepping for the week. We do try to stick primarily to whole foods and avoid gluten and dairy due to dietary restrictions. As young adults living in New York City we are always trying to save money any way we can. Groceries is a big one! We try to eat organic when we can, however it can become a bit pricey. Below is our rule of thumb when we shop organic. We have broken up our primary produce into 2 categories, the "Dirty Dozen" & the "Clean Fifteen". The Dirty Dozen are the produce products we try to buy organic whenever possible because they contain the highest loads of pesticide residues. The Clean Fifteen are produce that are least likely to contain pesticide residues and we will buy organic when on sale, but we don't worry about them too much.
The Dirty Dozen: strawberries, spinach, kale, nectarines, apples, grapes, peaches, cherries, pears, tomatoes, celery, and potatoes
Fire Line, What is it ??
Please check out this blog in order to stay up to date on the California Wild Fires.

Is wildfires a new normal in California ? With the utility companies accepting liability in one of the most horrific and expensive wild fires in our states history, they will be turning power off in areas with high wild fire exposure. This will assist with the prevention of wildfires that are started with an electric spark. Clients and prospects alike are receiving some non renewals because of the exposure the exchanges will have if a disaster occurs where we can not pay out claims. We, as an insurance company, have a financial responsibility to make certain we do have enough reserves to pay our claims.
Many new clients have been underwritten by our agency because of the partnership with the California Fair Plan. The CFP was designed to assist with undesirable locations for not only fire but, under served areas of California. The coverage purchased from the CFP will protect your exposure to wild fire. All other covered perils with the Farmers Insurance Group is protection for liability, vandalism, acts of God, etc. We have been able to fill the gaps of insurance those prospects and clients by writing the CFP Policy and the Farmers Insurance Supplemental Policy.
Making sure that your home is clear of any brush, cleaning out rain gutters, trimming or removing trees that are near or touching your home, are just a few items that should be conducted for proper maintenance for home ownership. Creating a plan of meeting, communicating and gathering the items most important in a home is a great way to get the family involved with a project. Creation of escape routes, knowing where your fire extinguisher is, setting an off site meeting place, taking care of pets, and organizing the neighborhood in the event of a catastrophe is a must in today's wildfire and earthquake prone environments. Please give our agency a call if you have any questions or concerns about home maintenance or policy contract language.
As always, we are grateful to have you in our lives as friends, family and clients. We appreciate you listening and reading our blog from the East and West Coast. Looking forward to chatting again in December.
Kindly, Glenn & Amanda Domingo
